᯽ Therapeutic Approach
Psychotherapy is a collaborative process aimed at understanding your thoughts, emotions, and patterns, and working toward meaningful and lasting change. I take a trauma-informed approach and may integrate modalities such as EMDR, IFS-informed work, somatic awareness, and cognitive approaches, depending on what is most appropriate for you.
Therapy may involve exploring experiences that feel difficult or distressing at times. While many people find therapy helpful, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
᯽ EMDR & Specialized Processing
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach used to process distressing or traumatic memories. This may involve focusing on past experiences, noticing emotional and physical responses, and, at times, experiencing an increase in emotional intensity during processing. EMDR will only be used when appropriate and with your consent, and you are free to pause or stop the process at any time.
᯽ Confidentiality & Privacy
All information shared in therapy is kept confidential and will not be disclosed without your consent, except in the following circumstances:
Where there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others.
Where there is suspected abuse or neglect and reporting is required.
Where disclosure is required by law (e.g., court order).
As sessions are conducted online, reasonable steps will be taken to protect your privacy, although absolute confidentiality over the internet cannot be guaranteed. Client information is handled in line with general data protection principles (including HIPAA-informed and GDPR-informed practices).
᯽ Online Sessions & Technology
Sessions are conducted via secure video platforms. You are responsible for ensuring you are in a private and safe environment and have a stable internet connection. If there are technical difficulties, we will make reasonable efforts to reconnect or reschedule.
᯽ Investment & Cancellation Policy
Standard sessions are 50 minutes ($115), and extended EMDR sessions are 80 minutes ($175). Payment is required prior to or at the time of the session.
Cancellation Policy: The first cancellation made with less than 24 hours’ notice will not incur a fee. Subsequent cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged at 50% of the session fee.
᯽ Crisis Support
Communication outside of sessions is best kept to scheduling and administrative matters. This service does not provide crisis support. If you are experiencing a crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis hotline in your area.
᯽ Agreement & Consent
You have the right to ask questions about your treatment, to decline or pause any part of the process, and to stop therapy at any time.
